Cat licking paws raw

My poor cat keeps licking her paws all the time. The front of her paws doesn't have fur because she licks it so much. I looked it up on the internet and they say distract the cat when they start licking. I try that and it works for a second, then she goes right back to licking. I don't know what else to do.

She's gotten so lazy too. I buy her so many toys and she doesn't play with any of them. She used to love bouncy balls. I would bounce them against the wall and she would chase it around the room but now I bounce it against the wall and she just looks at it. Other than eye movement she doesn't move. She used to love her catnip mouse, she used to play with it every day, several times a day. Now she plays with it maybe once a month. I don't know what to do to entertain her.

She's started watching TV. I have had her for about 15 years and she has never watched TV, then all of a sudden, two months ago she started watching TV. Weird. It's like she just noticed the TV is there after all these years. She watches for half an hour sometimes.

I wonder if she's so lazy because she's getting old. I know she should be a bit lethargic but now she reminds me too much of garfield, the cat: Sleep, Eat, Sleep, Litter Box, Sleep, Sleep, Sleep Some More, Eat, Sleep, Come To Be Petted, Sleep, Sleep, Get a Cat Massage From Me, Sleep, Sleep Some More, etc. What a life. I wish my life was that easy.
