People who don't bathe or change their clothes
I stayed at this woman's place once for three days. When she picked me up at the train station, she was wearing a pair of blue pants and a blue shirt. The next morning when I woke up I noticed she was wearing the same blue pants and blue shirt. I went to take a shower and dress. After, I asked her where the cleanser and rag was to clean the tub. She tells me she never cleans the tub. I look at her in shock. The tub had been clean. She said she has a cleaning lady that comes in once a month to clean. I guess she had gotten the lady to clean right before I came because the tub was clean. Anyway I found a rag and cleanser to clean the tub after my shower.
The next morning when I got up, this lady was wearing the exact same blue pants and blue shirt. I couldn't believe it. And I never saw her in the three days I was there have a shower. She didn't stink but still. What the hell.
I have to have a shower every morning. Every single morning. If I don't take one in the morning because my alarm didn't go off and I am really late for work, then I take one as soon as I get home. How do people not take showers or change their clothes for three days?
Sometimes in the summer I take two showers because it's so friggin hot. When I was a kid, my mother made us take a bath every night before bed. Every night. My brother hated taking a bath. I remember once I suspected he wasn't bathing because he had that I didn't bathe smell. So one time when my mother told him to go have a bath, I opened the door and there was my brother sitting on the side of the tub waving his hand back and forth in the water so it would sound like he was having a bath. The little bugger.
Back then we were kids and kids will do that.
I remember when I was a live in nanny for a very short time and I was looking after this little girl who was eight. When I first got there, I made up her bath for her before bed and she told me it wasn't her bath night. I looked at her like she was kidding. I was like, "what do you mean it's not your bath night? Every night is a bath night."
She started crying and carrying on because I was insisting she have a bath before bed. I never saw a child carry on so. When her mother came home I told her the little girl told me she didn't have to have a bath because it wasn't her bath night. And the mother told me yeah, the little girl only has to have a bath three times a week. I nearly died from shock. Seriously was she kidding? She wasn't.
This was a new concept to me. People not bathing or showering every day. I had never heard this before. I just assumed EVERYONE showered or bathed every day. After that I would casually ask white people if they showered every day and wouldn't you know, they didn't. It seems it is only us West Indian people who bathe every day. Canadians don't. Wow!!!!!
